If you’re in need of a break for a week or a fortnight, and you’re on a budget, Thailand is the perfect destination for you. And when I say Thailand, I don’t just mean Bangkok and Pattaya! There are remarkable hidden treasures all over Thailand which most of us are not aware of. All we ever associate with Thailand are the killer nightlife, the best of massage parlours, and so on. Well, here’s showing you the real Thailand. And here’s to taking the path less-travelled!
Well, I would have to agree that visiting Bangkok is essential. Not for anything else, but the amazing vibe that fills the city that never sleeps. The street food is amazing all over the country! Don’t step foot into any high-end restaurant, go “street” for your grub. You will never stop, plus you won’t burn a hole in your pockets. Accommodation is cheap if you look at the right places. Khaosan Road and Siam Street are filled with low budget hotels and hostels where you can crash. I suggest not booking hotels through the popular travel websites. Look around and you will find your place. Shopping is amazing here and everything is very easy on your pockets. The nightlife, well, needs no introduction. Khaosan Road is the place to be! Filled with bars and clubs, this one of a kind boulevard of happiness will take your trip to another level. The vibe just takes you away! Days feel like minutes.
Second Destination- Krabi
Krabi is a “must visit” for anyone travelling to Thailand. From the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, this magnificent place is tucked away down south. Take a flight from Bangkok or a bus(if it suits your need). Travel is not very expensive, but be sure to pre-book it. Ao Nang beach is your spot. A 30 minute drive from the Krabi Airport takes you straight to this amazing beach town which is a far cry from the city life. Hotels are a plenty, and available all along the beach. This is a place where you can, for once, let go of everything else. Peace and serenity surrounds you. The wonderful people of Ao Nang are very friendly and you feel the calm that embraces you. The Four Islands tour is the highlight of this place. There are speedboats which tour everyday to the four islands, and also includes meals and snorkeling. Trust me, you have to see it to believe it! Other adventure tours include rafting, trekking, elephant rides and so on. Oh, and hire a two-wheeler so you can just take off into the night! The nightlife is relaxed yet very lively. After a long night, you can just stroll on the beach and forget the world. A truly amazing place!
Third Destination- KohSamui-KohPanghan
This is a two-destination visit. You reach KohSamui by cruise or bus depending on your location. KohSamui itself is a very chilled out place with lots of beach resorts overlooking the endless ocean. Here again, shopping and the nightlife are up to the mark. The gem, although, is about an hour’s cruise from KohSamui. KohPanghan is the ultimate destination for all party lovers! Well, in simple words, all hell breaks loose! The Full Moon Night party is a once a month extravaganza which will take your breath away! People talk about Tomorrowland. Well, this more than matches it, and it’s a one night party where you just explode! A crowd of 30000+ tourists stranded on a 3 km radius island going crazy! There is barely enough space for you to walk! The whole” island” turns into the most awesome party experience of your life. You can dance your way through the night and carry on until sunrise. The beach is your bed! Enough said!
Note: The best time to visit KohPanghan is around New year’s.
Other places to visit: Phuket, KohLanta
All in all, Thailand is an exotic location which is no less than any other tourist destination. It is often seen as quite the mainstream tourist spot for many of us but what awaits you is anything but that! Well, regarding the budget for your trip, 80000-1.2lac will suffice a fortnight if you plan your trip well although you might overshoot at times. Be sure to book your travel a few months in advance to reduce cost. Thailand is perfect-the food, the people, the places to visit, the nightlife and so on.
Never travelled abroad?? Want a life changing experience?? Thailand is the place!!
